In this frame, the company is seeking a dynamic Senior Stress Analysis Engineer to join its Piping and Layout Section team and work with a passionate, detail-oriented, and international team to develop and maintain our projects.


Main duties and Responsibilities:

  • To manage the Company Standard Specifications for Stress analysis and Pipe Supports
  • To prepare and issue the dedicated Project Specifications about Stress Analysis and Pipe Supports
  • To manage and coordinate the Home Office and the external engineering companies, if present, ensuring that the activities are efficiently carried out according to the project procedures and the current best practices
  • To transfer to the Civil Section the loads necessary to structure calculations
  • To maintain contact with Clients
  • Travel abroad for meetings or surveys
  • Assist the site team during erection
  • Prepare datasheets for special supports like spring hangers, snubbers, expansion joints, etc.
  • Preparation and management of MRs and related supply specifications and technical evaluations

Job requirements

Education

Degree in Mechanical Engineering, or equiv.

Languages

Italian Fluent, English Fluent - knowledge of any other language may be an asset.

Software knowledge

Good practical experience in using the following software:

  • CAESAR II
  • Nozzle Pro
  • MS Office (Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Access, Power Platform)

Skills

  • Very Good Experience with Caesar II stress analysis software
  • Knowledge of the technology of materials used in industrial plants, metals, alloys, plastics, GRE
  • Prepare calculation reports in piping systems for load-by-load, sustained, thermal, occasional, transient, and fatigue and interpretation of results.
  • Capability to perform semi-static and Dynamic analysis for reciprocating pumps, compressors, earthquakes, surges, and slug phenomena.
  • Deeply review loads and calculations for static and dynamic piping systems and related equipment, such as pumps, compressors, and turbines, and static equipment, such as solar, atmospheric, pressure vessels, heat exchangers, etc.
  • Prepare piping load report for the pipe racks, primary structures, and secondary supports for the civil department.
  • Selection of standard and special pipe supports
  • Selection and specifications editing of accessories such as variable/constant springs, brackets, snubbers, expansion joints, etc.
  • Design and verification of piping systems with expansion joints according to the recommendations of the EJMA.
  • Calculation memory for seismic loads, wind, and discharge of relief valves
  • Strong interpersonal communication and analytical skills
  • Ability to prioritize workloads, problems, and the needs of all members of their multidisciplinary team.
  • Detail-oriented with strong organizational skills
  • Ability to work well under pressure in a dynamic environment.

Experience

Minimum of 10 years working experience in a similar role.

Preference will be given to those candidates who have gained the required experience:

  • in an EPC company operating in chemical, petrochemical, or oil&gas sectors.
  • On a similar role in the last 2 to 5 years.
